I had a meaningful and beneficial group project to present a real
problem in Singapore in ES2007S module of NUS. In the project, out team decided
to discover more about the Choa Chu Kang LRT station after we listened the
story of one of our teammates. It might sound as a minor problem to overall
population but it is indeed affecting a lot of people especially elderly and
disabled.
We went to do on-site inspection and the trip eventually enforced
the concerns we discussed beforehand. It made us more determined to discuss the
issues in class. Of course, it was difficult to collect the survey results
since most people did not have time or they were unwilling to share. In
addition, SMRT staff was unwilling to accept our interview in the first place
due to their position but we somehow managed to get a bit of information after
persuasion. Data collection was not easy at all.
However, our team was cooperative and efficient in all the tasks.
All were done swiftly and nicely. We felt proud that our topic was able to
relate to the experience of some classmates. Most importantly, I would like to
thank my team for putting up an excellent presentation. All our effort was
conveyed effectively.
In this project, I learned the real time business proposal in
writing as well as data collection. This was uncommon in the study of NUS. On
top of that, I experienced what is being called 'efficient team' in this
project. That was a marvelous experience.
If it was possible, we would like to collect bigger pool of opinion
and to request for official data from related agencies for a better
substantiation in our project. These would greatly enhance the credibility of
our project as a real proposal.
